The Hotel du Vieux saule is in my favorite neighborhood with great cafes just around the corner. Hallways and rooms are small, but recently re-done with modern furnishings and fabrics. Overall, very nice. This is always my first choice of places to stay while in Paris.

THE ONLY NICE PERSON WAS THE YOUNG MAN WHO HELPED ME FIND A TAXI AT 5 AM TO TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL AS I HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. COULD NOT EVEN WATCH TV OR TAKE A HOT BATH WHEN I RETURNED FROM HOSPITAL.

Excellent location for visiting key attractions by public transport or by walking.

Some negotiation re room costs for more than 4 nights stay would be an added incentive.

Learning about bus routes is worthwhile - very easy to navigate and you see more than by metro.

A nice and friendly hotel in a quiet street in Marais where the staff and service is very, very good. The room was a bit small, but with a nice view to the small street.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location in an interesting part of town.
The package was not worth the high price - 135 Euros per night for a double room. The increase in value wasn't worth the increase in price with regards to other offers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay...hotel was conveniently located. Only negative comment is the stairwell is very dark and hard to navigate.

Delightful Hotel, close to the Bastille Area, giving you a true feel of day-to-day Paris away from the tourist hustle and bustle. The Hotel du Vieux Saule is very close to the Metro Station and Notre Dame. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room provided and old world french feel with modern conveniences.
Vos astuces à Paris
Use the metro - easiest and cheapest way to get around the city.

Dine in the local eateries instead of those focused on the tourist trade.

The location is great. In the middle of the 3rd arrondissement with lots of nice shops and cafes around. The room we stayed in was TINY but alright. The beds were tiny as well, and for a stay longer than a couple of days it would probably be a bit too claustrophobic.
