The Hotel des Deux Iles is a real gem in the heart of Paris, not only for its wonderful historical location but also because it is everything you hope it would be.

The St-Louis Island is where it all started and is most loved by the locals for its authenticity, tight community and village feel. The entrance hall and main lounge are a prime example of the superior standard and attention to detail that is to be found throughout the building. Fresh colour schemes complement the dark wicker furniture to create an immediately welcoming atmosphere. An inner courtyard has been beautifully arranged with luxurious plants and an artistically tiled fountain to delight the eye. The staff’s professionalism is second to none and will do whatever is in their power to make your stay memorable.

The magnificent vaulted cellar with ageless stone walls and working Renaissance open fire (a rarity in Paris) is where a scrumptious breakfast is served. A separate lounge area with comfortable seats and soothing lighting has been created to allow you to spend a quiet moment with a good book or keep in touch with your friends and family thanks to the computer at your disposal.

With only 17 rooms, the Hotel des Deux Iles will truly seem like a second residence to you rather than a hotel and the many period features like the original oak beams adorning the rooms are a wonderful reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. The decor is extremely tasteful and elegant with precious fabrics and quintessential French touches all around like the Toile de Jouy printed cushions and traditional painted tiles in the contemporary bathrooms. Satellite television, air-conditioning, a safety deposit box and Wi-Fi connexion are part of the modern conveniences and a laundry service is available on request.

You really have to be staying in the Island St Louis to realise how wonderful a place it is. Intimate jazz clubs, award winning restaurants, fashion boutiques, mysterious bookstores, irresistible bakeries and art galleries all come together to form a street of wonders. You could spend the whole of your stay just trying everything out. The world-famous Berthillon ice-cream parlour is also to be found a few steps away from the Hotel des Deux Iles and the 17th century St-Louis Church is a must see. Step out of the island and you will find yourself right in front of the stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral and historical Conciergerie. Take one of the many taxi boats (batobus) available at the side of the Cathedral to discover Paris in style and end up at famous places such as the Louvre Museum, Eiffel Tower and Champs-Elysées in minutes.
