I found the hotel to be very charming and the staff helpful. I do think the rooms should have airconditioning or at least ceiling fans, our bathroom needed some updating. ( there were a few cracked tiles in the bathroom which made it look a little run down). Other wise I enjoyed my stay. The location was excellent. We were able to walk to everything.

What I like in this hotel is the friendly staff , the good taste of the decoration and furniture, and the location within Paris. It was not my first stay and I'll come again.

J'avais réservé une chambre double supérieure, pour 7 jours, et on nous a placés dans une chambre double standard à usage individuel (on pouvait à peine bouger) au 4e étage où il fallait arriver en montant des escaliers très étroits à partir du 3e étage. J'ai exposé le problème et le lendemain on nous a placés dans une chambre standard, mais plus grande, au 2e étage. Finalement tout s'est bien passé, mais il faut indiquer ceci car si je n'avais rien dit on nous aurait fait marcher.

It is located in a very quite place, especially if you get a room facing the inside "garden". Very nice breakfast room, but a bit small for a full hotel. Perfect located and don't ever leave without spending some hours in Jardin Luxembourg.

Loved this wonderful old style hotel with its ivy covered walls lovely courtyard and very helpful staff, would visit again !

I stay often at the Hotel Luxembourg and love it. The location is fantastic and I think it is great value for money. Morad, the hotel manager, is excellent and always friendly and helpful. I suggest you ask for a room at the front of the house.

Polidor restaurant around the corner is very good, reasonably priced food. There are also a number of good, cheap japanese restaurants in the area. The Luxembourg gardens are around the corner and great to sit in, and read,with a glass of wine. They're also lovely for a wander. Visit the bee hives on the outer perimeter of the gardens. The Luxembourg museum always has good exhibitions on.

The staff are wonderful. They were gracious from the start, giving us directions to the Metro, internet cafes, best ways to get places, etc. Breakfast was great, and the French server made us feel like we were in a nice restaurant. My niece and I traveled with her teenage daughters (13 & 15) who also loved the Hotel Luxembourg. They even watched the French language TV. The location is great, not far from the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, Metros, and just a short walk to Notre Dame (six blocks?).

Try the Fat Tire Bike Company bike ride tour or Segway tour of Paris. It is great and the guides give a tour you will not forget.

We had stayed at the hotel in 2002 and loved our stay. However, there appears to have been nothing done to keep the hotel fresh in the interim. Carpets appear worn, upholstery, etc. The location is superb! We adore the breakfast! It seems a shame that such a charming spot has gotten to feel "tired".

Good location. Easy to find. Slightly quirky layout - so much nicer than a sterile modern hotel. Nice rooms, well furnished. Friendly, genuinely helpful staff. An ideal choice for a solo traveller.

Make a point of visiting the Musee de la Chasse in the Marais - its owned by an independant trust which has invested a considerable amount of skill and money to create a really unusual visitor experience. The museum works closely with contemporary artists, the displays are full of wit and fun. The attention to detail and the sheer quality of everything is extraordinary.

The staff were quite friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The price was excellent for the area. The location is ideal for the Jardins du Luxembourg and La Sorbonne, near several Metro stops and an RER connection. Further, it is at the intersection of the 5eme and 6eme Arrondissements--reward enough for the meanderer.

This was my second visit to the Hotel Luxembourg. I was in a very different room this time, right over rue Vaugirard, but the room never seemed noisy. It's a great location, on the border of the 5th and 6th arrondissements, very close to the Luxembourg Gardens, the Sorbonne, and the many restaurants along rue Monsieur le Prince. At one point during my stay, I became ill, and the hotel staff were willing to bend the rules so I could have some tea in my room. Lovely all around.

The Hotel Luxembourg is also well situated for the Metro, which is the best way to travel around the city. The 4 and the 10 both stop near the hotel, and walking along the Luxembourg Garden will take you to the 12. Those three lines will get you to most of the places you might want to go, or to connections to those places. Save your walking for the Museums: take the Metro.

Nous n'y avons malheureusement séjourné qu'une seule nuit mais tout était parfait, le petit déjeuner buffet délicieux et les articles de toilette dans la salle de bains de grande qualité. Nous espérons y revenir le plus tôt possible!

Returned to this hotel after several years, when I had an unfortunate experience of being turned down in spite of a confirmed reservation. Nice rooms (we had superior, standard rooms are quite small), beautiful lobby area, cosy breakfast room in basement. Extremely well located in the midst of everything I love in Paris. Walking distance to Luxembourg RER train station to airport. Recommended.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was comfortable and attractive, and the breakfasts each morning were a great way to start the day! I loved having an individual pot of coffee.
