I was looking for a hotel that would reflect its neighborhood and the essence of Paris. The Hotel du Vieux Saule did this. It is in the heart of the Marais and has the charm that the chain hotels lack. My room was comfortable, clean, and attractive. The staff were very patient with my poor, minimal French and helped me feel at home in Paris. Thanks !

L'ascenseur est trop étroit ainsi que le couloir entre les chambres.
Par contre, le personnel est toujours prêt pour aider. L'hôtel en gros était un très bon choix !

The restaurant around the corner, name Le Charlot, good petit dejeuner! And the menu for the evening also looks very good.

Staff very friendly and helpful, even offering a late check out when they became aware of our travel time. Rooms on the small side, not unusual in a large city.

Small rooms and not cheap, but they were clean and quiet and the hotel is well located in a great district of Paris. Walking distance to main sites or if you are feeling lazy the metro is five minutes away.

Enjoyed our stay.

Expensive, 8 to 11 euros for a 50cl glass of beer!!! At one point paid 7.5 euro for a pint of coke!!! 50cl's of house wine are the best option, 9 euro will get you four or five small glasses.

Great location!! The pics on the website appeared to show the higher end rooms. Towels were a little worn as well as the carpet.

Paris is breathtaking! Every twist and turn is a work of art and history.
Walking city, safe and clean subways. The french are smokers and smoke everywhere.
Bring a detailed street map to guide you. Seek out shops eateries where the locals go... special treat go the ritz carlton!!!

This is a lovely small hotel that has recently been modernized inside. It is clean, quiet and very comfortable and the staff are all welcoming and helpful. I have stayed here four times now and recommend it highly.
