Staff was very nice and pleasant. They were in the middle of renovations so it's a bit tough to rate the cleanliness. I couldn't manage to get the TV to work, but I was rarely in the room. It's really centrally located, which is exactly what I needed in order to get back and forth to work. I'd stay there again just for the location.

This hotel is conveniently located just 5 minutes from the Hotel de Ville Metro Station (Line 1 Yellow).Nearby are plenty of boulangerie and small coffeeshops.Hotel corridor is rather dark but rooms are clean and comfortable although the bed is small even by Asian standards.

Wear good walking shoes, use the Metro and speak basic French. Ideally we should spend around 1 week in Paris instead of 4 days. So much to see and do.

A decent enough city centre hotel, if not as good value for money as some others; it may well get noticeably better when the current refit is complete. A bit cramped and short on facilities for the price, but that's the location, I guess - and there are, for example, good places in the vicinity to go for breakfast.

This is a very convenient and comfortable base from which to see Paris.

Breakfast could be improved at little cost: it was adequate but cold. A better jug to keep coffee hot and warm plate for croissant is all it would take.

A shower curtain would be nice but not essential.

The day clerk was exceptionally friendly and helpful, cheerful and pleasant. He made us feel so welcome and not at all embarrassed about not speaking French. He recommended nice restaurant in the neighborhood - Les Philosophes.

You apparently need to tip in cash if you're going to use a credit card, they can't add it to the total after they give you your bill.

Great location in a pleasantly quiet road in the Marais and only a step from Hotel De Ville, comfortable room and great ensuite shower (only grumble ... a slight squeeze between bed and bathroom door). Well kept by cleaning staff

This hotel has a great location. Recommended for all travelers and on a nice quiet street. Also a good choice for LGBT travelers as it is well located in the Marais.

Excellent location; staff very friendly and helpful. Has a lift. Beds on the firm side but we always slept well. Clean bathroom with shower and tub. Did not try the room service breakfast but others staying there enjoyed it (we preferred "Pain Quotidien" down the road).

A very convenient location, an excellent base for exploring Paris. Our room was clean and new but was still waiting for one wall to be painted. The reception and toilet downstairs were quite run down and again, it looked like building work was ongoing.

I booked this hotel from over in the states for a 3 night stay, ended up staying 6 nights we liked it so much. Super clean, cosy bed, HOT water shower (I'm really not too used to that while traveling, quite a nice surprise), easy walking distance to just about everything, the nieghborhood was safe as anything (we got in quite late most nights, no worries) and the hotel staff were unbelievably cool. Do yourself a favor while in Paris - stay at this hotel!

Hotel Du Vieux Marais is in a brilliant location in the heart of Paris. Would definitely recommend if you want a hotel which is value for money, in a great location to be use as a base to explore Paris.
