Wonderful position, close to restaurants, tourist locations, Metro and buses. Easy walking to Lourve and Notre Dame. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

Tips about Paris
Hop on one of the many open-top buses and do a city tour, then go back on your own to vist each place that interested you. It's well worth it. Paris is very easy to get around.

It is a beautifully quaint hotel, newly remodeled and located in the middle of the Sain River on the romantic island of “Ill Saint-Louis”. It is in an excellent location that is within easy walking distance to most of Paris’s famous land marks and the RER stations.

This was our first European visit; needless to say we were a bit nervous. Prior to the visit we had several email exchanges with the staff asking for advise, they responded quickly, caringly and professionally putting our minds at ease about the trip, something I've never experienced from any other hotel. Once we got there the staff was eager to assist and advise and was very friendly.

A great place to stay whether you are a newbie to Paris like us or an experienced traveler.


The hotel is impeccably maintained, charmingly decorated and up to date with all of the modern conveniences and features of an upscale hotel (Wi-Fi, AC etc). The room was warmly decorated with a modern bath room.

We stayed on the 7th and 8th of August. During our stay there were renovation being conducted in the lobby and stair well. There were ladders blocking access to the stairs and strong paint fumes in the common areas and in our room. We opened the window in our room (333) but found overwhelmingly, the smell of paint was hard to avoid. So, we just put up with it. Given that we were paying full price for the room,we would expect full service (not a building site) or a discount.

For these reasons, I would be reluctant to stay here again. Customer service in this industry is very important. I travel to Paris several times a year on business. I typically stay with friends, but would have used your hotel if i thought the service/experience justified the price. Renovations cannot be avoided, but some compensation for the guests (by way of discount) should have been considered so as to avoid disappointment.

Small petite hotel. The location was great. The rooms, although the hotel was being renovated, were modern, very clean and comfortable. The staff seemed nice and helpful.
They could have called me in my room to tell me a taxi was waiting (I requested a taxi from my room). It cost me an extra 12 euros in wait time and they wouldn't accept responsibility for it.

Apart from the room being really small and the breakfast really not interesting everything was as good and satisfactory as I remembered from my last visit in April 2004.

Excellent air conditioning system for such an old building. Made a huge difference in summer heat. Spotless rooms, excellent bathroom features, incredibly solicitous staff. Effective use of small amount of room space--very efficient. Beds not long enough, of course, for taller travelers, and pillows could be thicker or more of them for folks who require height--acid reflux sufferers. Breakfast could be much nicer (better quality fresh fruit and yogurt) service was excellent.

The Hotel des Deux-Iles may have the best location of any hotel in Paris, and it's charming in its own right. My room, though small, was cozy, attractive and well-appointed, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. The various staff members could not have been nicer or more helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Notre-Dame, the Metro, the "Batobus" and various lovely restaurants and cafes. While not dirt-cheap, the rates are reasonable for this area of Paris.

This is my second time staying at the hotel in 5 years. Improvements were made between my first and second visit especially the bathrooms and windows. More improvements are needed especially to the rundown decor.
In spite of this, our stay was comfortable. The location of the hotel is ideal for seeing the sights of Paris.

Watch for pick-pockets !!!!; use the Metro but keep in mind that it is frequented by pick-pockets and cons looking for unsuspecting tourists, select an hotel that is within easy walking distance to most venues.

Not to be upset by size of your room – just remember it’s not Dubai or Sharm-El-Sheikh… It’s centre of the Centre of an old European capital.

PS : It seems strange, but bathroom is comfortable and big enough.

Fabulous location on Ile St-Louis. Centrally located for everything we wanted to do. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We would definitely consider staying here on our next trip !

Find a location to stay at that is centrally located to sights/sites, attractions and mass transit - it will make whatever you want to do or see so much easier.

I will have fond memories of my travels in France for the rest of my life. Not the least of these is my stay at l'Hotel des Deux Iles. I was charmed from the moment I walked up to the entrance for the first time. Then, again and again as I stepped out each morning onto the street, already alive with Parisians and visiters alike. Each day, as I ventured out into the city, I walked just a few blocks to cross over the Seine, past Notre Dame. The location of l'Hotel des Deux Ile is perfect!!

We really enjoyed buying bread or sandwiches, cheese, and wine from the small shops along the Rue Saint Louis en l'Ile and then having picnics.

Rooms are not large and big people might struggle with access to en suites but there is charm and warmth and excellent location to make up for slight drawbacks.

We loved the location of this hotel; the staff was helpful and friendly and spoke enough English for us to easily communicate with them. Our room was a little small but we had the feel of being in a more authentic Parisian hotel than if we had stayed in a chain hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again on a return trip to Paris.
