I was in Paris for business, and my wife came for a few days of play in Paris. My work was nearby, and we have several friends in Paris whom we wanted to visit. It was convenient for both. The hotel is not high end, but our room was comfortable and the hotel and staff were very congenial. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Comments about the hotel
This hotel is located near metro stations, the Louvre, Notre Dame, boulangeries, fromageries, a laundramat, a small market. Several nice cafes are just a few doors away. The hotel is comfortable and lovely, the location is fantastic---I will stay here whenever I'm in Paris and will recommend it to all of my friends and acquaintinces.
Tips about Paris
With the problems of metro and train strikes, it is smart I think to consider location very carefully. It would always be worth a little more money to be able to get to things easily than have your visit ruined because you're trapped out further from the city center. This hotel is a good value for the money based on it's excellent location.

This is just a lovely hotel, very small but so cosy and it´s in the middle of paris. I just love it. This was my 2 stay at this hotel and not my last. The rooms are small atd the bathroom is even smaller. But who stays in the hotel when your in paris ?
Love it...

The owner and management were amazing. The shuttle service was wonderful. We really had a fabulous stay. Our only small complaint was that the air conditioning was not very strong, which wouldn't have been a problem any other time of year, but we happened to be in Paris in mid-August during a heat wave. With the window open, however, it was not too hot at night. I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location. The shuttle bus to and from the hotel and the train station was well worth it and the drivers couldn't have been more helpful. However, be prepared for matchbox rooms. One reason I booked the hotel was for the lift but it didn't take us to our room. Also, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast- very pricey for what you get.

The hotel is in a beautiful location on the Isle Saint-Louis and close to many of the best sites in Paris. It is also close to the batobus which is a great way to travel to the sites along the Seine.

Location is just fantastic. Rooms sufficient, bath room small but who cares, you are in the middle of Ile St Louis and Paris. Well worth the money to be in the middle of Paris. Great neighborhood, best ice cream in the world across the street. Really.
Tips about Paris
Great city. Great beauty all around. Watch out for gold ring scam and more beggers then I am used to.
Just TRY to speak a little French and the people are very nice and helpful.

Staff was wonderful, particularly the front-desk staff. Breakfast room is cozy. Location is great. Very noisy, however: walls are thin and street noise more audible than at the partner hotel, the Lutece. Rooms are very small, even for Paris.
Tips about Paris
Be prepared for stairs - there is almost no access for individuals with disabilities, particularly in the Metro and in hotels. Surprising that a city that has undergone major architectural projects in the past 10 years didn't spent more on ramps and elevators so that everyone can enjoy Paris.

This was our 6th stay at Hotel St. Louis, and it won't be our last. We're in Paris on a regular basis, and it's where we call home while we're there.
Great staff, great location, very well managed and maintained.
Tips about Paris
Take your walking shoes, and go experience the city.
Reading up on some of the history of this beautiful city before you go will make your wanderings more interesting.

A gorgeous old town house, beautifully kept up, and with the bedrooms very nicely renovated/upgraded since my last visit in the late 1990's. The staff is charming, attentive, fun and an important part of this hotel's unique ambiance. Comfortable bed, VERY QUIET, super new bathrooms. Of course the lift is ancient and slow, but anyone with a brain walks off all the cheese and wine on the stairs, using the lift just for luggage. And what a location. The rooms on 4 and 5 are the nicest. *****
Tips about Paris
My group contained some older relatives so we used taxi's instead of my favorite combo of walking and the Metro. We had stellar, polite, well-informed taxi drivers consistently ( I speak reasonably good French, which likely helps) ~ and I was shocked at the LOW PRICES (in the historical zone, rides for 3 were consistently 8-12 euros. Bistro Benoit (off Rue Rivoli near the Hotel de Ville) is such a Michelin-starred, yet informal and friendly WINNER ~ reservations usually a must. Just enjoy Paris !

Great experience. The staff at this hotel was outstanding. They assisted us with any questions we had, directions, recommendations, etc. We highly recommend the hotel shuttle service from the airport. Be aware that the rooms are very small, as are most rooms in Paris, but the bathrooms are newly remodeled with showers. We loved the location, and cannot say enough good things about our experience with the staff.
