Comments about the hotel
We have stayed at the Hotel Saint-Louis off and on for years, and will continue to return to it. We love the location (can be a bit noisy, but still great), and the staff are very welcoming (and not the least stuffy). The rooms are small but comfortable, which is all we ask, since we are there to enjoy Paris rather than sit in a hotel room.

Great location. Tiny rooms with tiny not particularly comfortable beds. Nice staff. A bit pricy...but I guess that is to be expected on the island.
Tips about Paris
If you have kids, the kids park in the Jardin de Luxembourg is really great. There are donkey rides too!

Comments about the hotel
A charming hotel set in an outstandingly convenient but peaceful location with easy access to transport, restaurants and other cultural and entertainment attractions. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and unfailingly helpful. My single room, though compact, was very comfortable, attractively furnished and well-equipped and the public areas all had an ambience arising from a thoughtful provision of modern facilities in historic surroundings.
Tips about Paris
The Ile St Louis was previously unknown to me but a complete revelation as a quiet, unspoiled location, excellently served with bars, restaurants and shops, with easy access to public transport - an oasis of calm - and yet in the very heart of the City no more than a couple of hundred metres from some of the busiest attractions. All the more surprising, therefore, to find in it a hotel of such quality but still at a reasonable price.

The location is amazing and the hotel is great and the staff are extremly friendly and helpful for what ever you may need. The rooms are traditional parisian; small but so unique and you expect it from Paris.
Tips about Paris
The metro is really easy and cheap to use, we went everywhere on it!

The room was a bit small but the location is perfect which more than makes up for it. Breakfast is very basic but the staff were fantastic.

Location is not bad for sights, but value for money though is not in any sense spectacular. You should remember to have breakfast elsewhere.
Stayed at this particular hotel because my parents tend to use it whilst in Paris.
Tips about Paris
We have visited numerous capitals throughout the world. The sad thing about Paris is that the cultural scene is hidden away - and not on display as you find it in other major cities.
I have lived for two years in France, speak the language but nevertheless find this to be true.

Great location, very close to Notre Dame. We had a nice view from our balcony showing Notre Dame. The breakfast which you purchase was worth the cost, the ambiance was great. Would go back again if we visited Paris again in the future, highly recommend staying here.
Tips about Paris
We walked around and got to see alot of Paris instead of taking the trains. You miss so much if you are below ground. Always something interesting to see.

Super location, absolutely fantastic, you stay right in the middle of Paris with all attractions in walking distance. Nice hotel, lovely staff, small but very clean rooms, we did not try the breakfast as you step out the hotel and have lots of lovely coffee shops around you.
I can surely recommend this hotel.
Tips about Paris
Walk around that gives you a much better feeling for this city then driving around by subway. Enjoy!

Tips about Paris
It is a walking city so hotel location is important.

I am sorry this is in English, rather than French. We did not in fact stay at the Hotel St Louis this year, but have stayed in the past. This year, it was fully booked when we wanted to visit Paris. My recollection from about three years ago is that it is a first class small hotel, ideally situated in the heart of the Ile, very clean, comfortable and pleasant in every way, and with very helpful staff. I hope very much that when we next come to Paris we will be able to stay there.
Tips about Paris
In my view the best value and pleasantest major European capital to visit for a weekend or slightly longer. Much more relaxing to walk round than London; always plenty to do; most attractions quite reasonably priced; traditional English prejudice about Parisian unfriendliness totally unjustified.

I will definitely come back.
Tips about Paris
Paris has got it all, the best city in Europe!
Note! If you wish to visit Claude Monet's home in Giverny, make sure you do your homework first. Train times are very far apart!!

Comments about the hotel
The hotel is ideally located for enjoying the real Paris. Not only was the hotel staff very helpful and friendly, but the nearby merchants were also.
Tips about Paris
Guide books and maps are very useful. Here is a warning for people using credit cards and drawing money from ATM's. Before you travel, contact your credit card company AND your ATM bank. Tell them you will be visiting Paris and spending more than usual amounts of money. Also find out the daily limits on both types of accounts. Failure to heed this resulted in a bank confiscating one of my cards. The foregoing has no relevance to the hotel. Financial arrangements with them were excellant.

We loved this hotel. The room was a little small but the location was perfect. The island is very quaint and you can walk to everything. Bernard (at the front desk) was wonderful and always there to help with directions and suggestions.
Tips about Paris
Use the Batobus (the river boat with hop-on/hop-off convenience). You can get on, right near the Notre Dame (very close to the hotel St. Louis)and get off where ever you want all day long. It is a great way to get around and take a ride on the Seine at the same time.
Also, the Metro is pretty easy to use and much more inexpensive than taxis.

Clean, comfortable and completely sufficient accommodations. The location cannot be beat. Lack of amenities, ie room service, entertainment options within room, are unnecessary given the highly convenient access to the Ile St Louis and Left Bank. I've stayed at the Hotel St. Louis twice and would stay there again.
