Comments about the hotel
Charming premises; very nice manager (I think she was manager), helpful staff when we had questions, wonderful location, near 2 Metro stations, 2 blocks from Ile St. Louis and Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame!), and 4 blocks from the Place des Vosges in the Marais district! Would definitely use it again.
Tips about Paris
Apart from the usual wonderful museums and sights, the Flute L'Etoile is a great champagne bar! Recommend a dinner cruise down the Seine and the Baccarat Museum was a real treat for 5 Euros!

Hotel Saint Louis Marais is a lovely little hotel set in a nice area. The room we shared for 3 was great. Only downside is that there were no tea making facilities for a morning cuppa!
Tips about Paris
Try the latin quarter for a budget meal, lots of restaraunts competing so can get 3 courses from 10 euros upwards.
The batobus is a nice way to travel on the seine if you are having a day sightseeing you can get on and off at the 8 stops and costs around 11 euros for the day.

Hotel is a great area - easy to get to restaurants and transport. Not touristy. The rooms & breakfast area were comfortable but very stuffy. Staff helpful when approached but one always had to interrupt what appeared to be personal phone conversations to get assistance. It would have been nice if staff were a little more interactive with guests, ie. Greeted guests when they arrive in the lobby. Would recommend hotel to others.

We stayed in both the annex and the original building. Both were very nice. We used the free computer under the lobby for email access. Nice location, fair price.

Aymen was very helpful in organising my 77 year old mother-in-law's (she stayed only 2 nights) transport to the airport. Good, clean, albeit small bathroom. Comfort rating is lower because the main room was very small, but at that price, in Paris (a very expensive city!), I did not expect much more. An elevator would be handy, but I guess that adds to the cost.

Ideally located; close to ND cathedral, night life, and public transportation.
Very quiet considering location.

Great location. We stayed on the top floor in a very nice room. But no lift!

Comments about the hotel
My mother, my sister and I stayed here for a weekend together away from our families. This is a small hotel with a great deal of character, and general period charm. It's a walk-up, which my mother, who is over seventy, found tiring at the end of a long day. The secondary beds in our room were rather small. Otherwise, the top floor suite is quiet. I could not make the Wifi work with my UK details. So, some things were just OK. But the staff were helpful and we had a terrific stay. Great area.
Tips about Paris
The Miss Manon boulangerie around the corner is a great alternative for breakfast. Great shops in the Marais.

The staff was exceptional-very nice, available 24 hours. This was my third stay with the Saint Louis hotel group. I will continue to stay in Saint Louis Hotels for future visits. 2 short blocks from Metro station. Nice bistros nearby.
Tips about Paris
Do your homework before you leave as to weather, special exhibits & events of interest. Remember most museums are closed on Tuesday. Wear comfortable walking shoes-it's easy to walk miles without realizing. Go someplace to watch people as soon as you arrive. See what they wear and try to assimilate as soon as possible.

Hallways were needed more frequent vacumning but room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely go back. Nice combination of charm and comfort at an affordable pricer for Paris and in an excellant location. Staff were delightful and helpful.
