Hotel has excellent location. Room was large, bathroom and plumbing new and fully functional! Beds were comfortable and clean. TV did not work. Internet was down the hall, and there was no list of amentities/information. The furniture was worn. Staff was helpful, breakfast just fine. Great deal for the $$. Would come again in a heartbeat.

Fine and rather quiet location near the boulevards of the Latin Quarter, the metrostation at Place Maubert, the RER-station St.Michel Notre Dame on the B-line to CDG-airport - and not to forget close to a number of good restaurants.

Good, clean hotel. Best value for money. Helpful staff. Annoying, loud college students at 2am next door made it hard to sleep. Hotel hurts itself by allowing these crowds.

The people who worked here could not have been more friendly and helpful, this was our second stay here and we felt very much "at home". Healthy and ample breakfast too ! Great safe location, easy to walk to everything.

On arrival informed quad room not available as shower broken, offered 2 rooms same price but had 2 young children. Got quad room next day offered 20 euro discount at end of stay. Bit noisy in area at night, but decent place and clean, staff a bit aloof.
Tips about Paris
Have good shoes, excellent trip too much to see and do in one trip!!

Comments about the hotel
Initial room was rather small, however after consultation with staff they kindly upgraded us to a room that I would definately ask for again. Ideally situated for the Seine and attractions. Had a major problem with the Paris Shuttle service though, 15 mins en route to Airport when police arrested the driver (no licence) and left us stranded in the middle of Paris! Rang the hotel who again sorted everything out, cannot speak highly enough of the hotel staff, many thanks guys!
Tips about Paris
Weather was kind to us and we had a lovely experience for our first time in Paris, river trip a must, take plenty of money though!

Located in a very convenient place and you can enjoy walking to Notre Dame or other sightseeing places.
Tips about Paris
Be careful in the metro. Both my husband and I were targeted by a group of four young pickpockets.

Three people occupying a room for three, one double bed one single. Twin and single would have been a preferable option but capacious room with balcony comfortable enough. Friendly, helpful but unintrusive staff.

Hotel was okay. We stayed in rooms behind the front desk and on the street level which was kind of noisy. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast should have included more things like eggs etc as it was almost 12.00 us dollars for croissant and coffee.

Comments about the hotel
Desk staff very professional and helpful. We had a reservation for a triple with a 15-yr daughter. After cramming 3 people into a small room with a cot for 1 night, they upgraded us to a 4 person room at no additional charge, an indication that they care enough to accommodate us as best they can.
Tips about Paris
It was difficult to find family suites in the St. Germain area. For couples, I think there are better choices at slightly greater cost.

We booked a large double and it had 1 double bed and a single bed and a sofa, and bath/shower, plenty of room and a balcony was v pleased. Didnt book breakfast but good supermarket around the corner and there was a fridge in room also to store drinks etc. Will definitely come and stay here if in Paris again, room no. 32
Tips about Paris
We had been to Paris before but stayed in a different area, this was much more central and very near notre dam and the louvre could walk to these sights in 10 mins, nearest metro 2 mins away

We loved our stay and highly recommend the Italian restaurant down the street at the corner. The hotel Claude Bernard was very conveniently located to walk or take the Water Bus to places of interest. It was quite a wonderful stay.

That was my second time to use your hotel and I did recommend it to someone who was just at your hotel a week or so ago, Sandy Shapiro. I liked everything about the hotel including the location. I would only like to comment one one thing. I hope you don't start having student groups at this hotel. You did have one small group when we were there and it did create some problems. Our friend had to change her room and we were bothered by some loud noise at night and loud shutting of doors.
Tips about Paris
I'm finishing the above. Please have the students far away from you other clients and have them near their teacher so they can be controlled better. I speak from experience since I was a Fr. teacher and brought many students to France. I thought the hotel showed more abuse than the first time I stayed with you. It really surprised me because you were making improvements at that time. I also liked have the option of boiled eggs when we were there the first time.

We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed the location. The hotel is an easy walk to Notre Dame and shopping. The family suite is very spacious and is well worth requesting.
Tips about Paris
Don't forget to have a crepe before your return to the hotel near the metro stop. Fabulous!!

I lived in Paris for about 5 years in my life, never more than two at a stretch. When I first came to Paris, I lived in this area before I found my first apartment. I stayed in several hotels during that time. This one is the best.
Tips about Paris
Buy a Metro card. Buy a Paris Museum card. Count your change.

My daughter and I stay in the hotel Claude Bernard Saint-Germain every chance we get to come to Paris. The staff has been with them for years, is knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. The bus stops across the street and runs every ten minutes most of the day to all parts of the city. We love the neighborhood - charming restaurants, shops for picnics to bring back to our balcony and enjoy while watching the street scene below. Walk to Notre-Dame, the Seine, museums and galleries.
Tips about Paris
A Parisian on the bus recommended the Branley Museum, which I had never known about. I was sadly mistaken that a day would be sufficient to tour its international collection that was quite incredible to this world traveler. L'Orangerie reopened this year with two rooms to lose yourself in a wrap around pond of waterlillies. I never miss the Monets at Marmottan. It is an easy bus ride across town.
Don't miss late night gratinee oignon at Brasserie Balzar (a block away) or Du Bougnat.

We shared a nice room with a certain 'coleur locale' in one of Paris'most enjoyable quarters.
On the downside I found breakfast accommodation rather basic.
